Margaret Rosling is a senior partner at Aldridge + Rosling LLP, in Vancouver, British Columbia. She was called to the British Columbia bar in 1987, and has practiced extensively in the areas of aboriginal environmental and resource law. Margaret and her firm specialize in advising and negotiating agreements for modern treaty nations in British Columbia, Yukon and Nunavut, and act as general counsel to the Nisga’a Nation, advising in all aspects of treaty implementation and governance.

Margaret has significant experience as the lead negotiator for British Columbia and Yukon modern treaty nations in respect of benefits agreements related to major resource development projects, including major mining, pipeline, and hydroelectric projects. She has negotiated economic benefits agreements and consultation agreements for First Nations, government, and industry clients.

Margaret has also represented First Nations in British Columbia, Yukon, Alberta, and Saskatchewan in aboriginal treaty rights litigation. In 2017, Margaret and her colleagues at Aldridge + Rosling LLP successfully represented multiple modern treaty nations and environmental organizations in litigation in the Supreme Court of Canada concerning the implementation of modern treaties (First Nation of Nacho Nyak Dun v. Yukon, 2017 SCC 58).

Margaret has raised two daughters and is passionate about mentoring and coaching young people. She has coached volleyball and field hockey, has served on preschool and parent advisory boards and was a charter member and coach of the North Shore Stars Volleyball Club. She also served on the Board of Directors for The Arthritis Society for eight years and in that capacity served on the Executive Committee, Finance Committee, Fund Development Committee and chaired the committees for and hosted four annual Bluebird Fundraising Galas.
