Bishop

Heather Bishop is an independent consultant with 29 years of experience in the areas of Indigenous governance, business development, stakeholder engagement, environmental, socio-economic, regulatory requirements, Indigenous knowledge, business strategy, training, and social accountability considerations.

During her long-standing career in the energy sector and in Indigenous communities, Heather has been able to apply her experience and skills to effectively facilitate and direct the meaningful participation of Indigenous communities and business in the energy sector through business development and contracting, project development, business and Indigenous governance, strategic planning, fiscal responsibility, and negotiation of partnerships and strategic alliances.

A tribal member of Cold Lake First Nations, Heather graduated from Olds College with a diploma in Land and Resource Management with a specialization in land classification and reclamation and holds a certificate in Occupational Health and Safety from the University of Alberta.

Heather was a former member of the Indigenous Women’s Economic Security Council and participates in numerous organizations that are directly involved in economic, community, and resource development.
