Cheryl Pelletier has recently retired after a successful career in Human Resource administration at the senior leadership level. With over 20 years of HR Management experience, Cheryl’s career included posts in both union and non-union environments, in BC Provincial Government, the Post-Secondary Education sector, and in First Nations Government. Cheryl’s career has been distinguished by commended performance and proven results in HR administration and her professional contributions have garnered provincial and national recognition. Cheryl has been a member of CPHR BC/YK (Chartered Professionals in Human Resources) since 2008, and obtained her CPHR designation with honours in 2010. Cheryl transitioned her professional membership to Retired status in September of 2023. An active volunteer, Cheryl served on the CPHR BC/YK Board of Directors for 7 years, concluding June 2023, and she has been an active volunteer for the BC SPCA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) since 2021, most recently appointed to the Board in April of 2023.

Cheryl has been passionate about sports throughout her life, having coached various girls’ basketball teams as a volunteer community coach. Cheryl also served on the Board of Directors for the BC Winter Games when her community hosted the provincial event in 2010. In her younger days, Cheryl played basketball for 20 years, followed by outdoor soccer for 10 seasons. Retiring from team sports at age 40, Cheryl pursued personal endeavours including long distance running up until the past 5 years where she continues to stay active as a member of the ’10,000 steps-a-day’ club.

On the homefront, Cheryl and her husband enjoy ‘living local’ in Terrace, British Columbia. Avid fishers and gardeners, they share their acreage property with 2 senior golden retrievers, 2 rescue cats, 6 chickens and a rescue rooster!
